Sackett Lake, NY

Sackett Lake is a spring-fed lake with a
circumference of about 5 miles. In the center it is about 30-40 feet
deep with a clean sandy bottom. Sackett Lake is a private lake which
gives access only to homeowners in the Sackett Lake area who have deeded
lake rights.
Charley & Mary Winston originally owned a lot of
property including Camp Roosevelt. In 1934 Charley Winston built the dam
which made Sackett Lake a more viable body of water. The lake feeds
into Winston Pond which is located behind Roberts Road and is strictly
used for fishing. Last year Sackett Lake was purchased and is now being
maintained by the Volunteer Firemen’s Department. A homeowners’
association has been formed to aid in the beautification of the lake
area and to keep the lake stocked.
There is no public access or boat launch, but
there is a private beach for those homeowners that do not own lakefront
property.
Camelot Woods is a community located off
of Winston Drive accomodating 160 completely detached single family homes
with amenities such as a pool, clubhouse and tennis courts.
This community also owns a parcel on
the lake and it is used by the residents of Camelot Woods to launch
their boats for fishing and boating anjoyment.
